Oh my! What a story!
As an artist, I appreciated Gabriella Salatino’s talent. But as an illustrative journalist, some of Gabby’s sketches could cost her her life.
And when a fellow journalist is found dead—and her own room ransacked—it becomes clear that she has seen something that she wasn’t supposed to see, and she is whisked away to Heima Island in the north of Lake Michigan. To her childhood home. And to her childhood crush. For safety.
The romance and the suspense build throughout this story—the danger follows her home. As her childhood friend and town deputy police officer, Andri Jóhannsson, is charged with protecting her.
Ms. Grandinetti pulls strands of her story and twists them together, building tension and suspense page after page, pulling the reader to the surprising conclusion.
