THE BLURB
She can't picture his face.
But he knows hers.
Firefighter Jules Adler suspects her blind date with Officer Dante de Marco
will not go well. When she witnesses a violent crime, the night goes from bad
to worse fast.
Dante, the police sketch artist, is tasked with getting enough details from her
to draw the killer. If only Jules could visualize the man’s face.
She and Dante are forced to spend a lot more time together than either would
like, trying desperately to come up with a likeness. The problem is, with a
ruthless psychopath closing in, that time is about to run out.
For fans of fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat suspense, slow-burning romance,
humor, and deep issues of faith.

MY REVIEW
I am a very visual person, and I used to assume that everyone would have a mental image of an item or person described. Or of a place, whether real or fiction.
Or a memory.
I learned recently that not everyone processes information that way.
And Ms. Davison took it to a whole other level—our stubborn, self-sufficient character, Jules, suffers from aphantasia. (I love a great new word!)
How can a witness to a crime relate to the police what happened without the ability to visually recall what happened? Yet, that is exactly the situation Jules Adler finds herself in. But the twist is that the killer saw her—and he does have recall of Jules’ face. And what she witnessed.
He didn’t just make Jules his next target, he decided to play games. To tease her. To torment her.
Blind date with Officer Dante de Marco couldn’t go much worse.
It’s a different meet-cute, and as they spend more time together—first trying to remember details of what she witnessed, then keeping her safe—the rough edges wear down and Jules finds herself attracted to the man.
Nobody writes real characters like Sara Davison, and Jule and Dante don’t disappoint.
