WEIGH-in-WEDNESDAY – MY I’M DOING-IT-THIS-TIME WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY – WEEKLY CHECK-IN

WARNING: Transparent and oh-so-vulnerable post ahead.

Once upon a time I thought I was fat.

 I was wrong.

I hovered all week. Hovered meaning my weight wobbled. Meaning it went up a couple of times (only a couple of pounds but still…) before it settled back at…

The taco soup I made is only partly to blame. It’s one of the best recipes I’ve ever made, and it was so easy to make! I maaaaaay have had a teensy bit too much to eat. LOL (having leftovers supper tonight, but have tempered the portion.)

It’s been another discombobulated week—ice- and snow-mageddon!

And the threat of losing power, possibly for several days.

Thankfully the storm was not as bad as predicted. But the stress and anxiety still kicked in high gear, and I did everything I could to be prepared just in case…

My daughter and one of my bonus daughters checked to make sure I’d have everything I need in the event of a power outage. My daughter brought chicken from her work, as well as a large jug of coffee. (I can drink it cold if I have to.)

My best friend’s daughter, who is like a daughter to me, brought canned chicken and tuna, and hard boiled eggs. Fresh eggs, mind you; she has chickens. She also brought a couple of emergency lighting options and hung my curtains for me.

Meanwhile, I brewed a back-up gallon of tea (I drink iced tea 24/7) and a back-up pot of my flavored coffee. I also made sure to have plenty of ice on hand.

Then I hunkered down to wait.

But the power never went out. And while I am overjoyed to have heat while the temps were dipping into the teens, the stress and anxiety took a toll.

With the RA, I get tired faster and more easily, and it takes longer to recover. So I’m still a blob of warm Jello. Truly, it feels like I’m trying to walk through water. And while there are smallish tasks that I can’t / won’t ignore, I’m basically just vegging for a few days.

So, though my weight has wobbled this past week, I landed back at 219.8 again this morning.

BUT, if the pattern holds this next week, the pounds will start trending down again.

Here’s to seeing less of me in the weeks to come.
