WEIGH-in-WEDNESDAY – MY I’M GONNA-DO-IT-THIS-TIME WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY – WEEKLY CHECK-IN

WARNING: Transparent and oh-so-vulnerable post ahead.

Once upon a time I thought I was fat.

I was wrong.

Today is exactly two months since I started (got serious about) this journey and launched this accountability feature. And I’m down….

Last Friday was a RED LETTER day—I felt better than I do most days (see chart below) and I made it farther on my walklet than I have been able so far. Didn’t clock it so I’m not sure exactly how far it was, but I went beyond the ¼ mile mark, that much I do know. EDITED TO ADD: I checked on Google maps and it looks like it was actually a HALF MILE!!! And I actually felt good after, sore some, but not fully hurting.

Sounds like such a small thing, but I was exhilarated!

This is why my energy level being what it was on Friday is worthy of note. And being able to walk as far as I did worthy of being as exhilarated as I was.

So there was this amazing book I was reading, Echoes of a Silent Song, by Amanda Wen, now one of my most favorite authors. And I pulled a stunt I’ve not attempted in years—I stayed up till 1:30 trying to finish it. (I didn’t get finished.) Yeah, and I paid for it all day Thursday. #yawn

Totally worth it!

As exhilarating as my walklet was on Friday, it also means that it takes a few days to ‘recover.’ I.E. No walkets for a couple of days, at least. Le sigh…

Why so much blog-space about going for a walk?

Because my goal in getting out for my walklets is twofold: a) build strength and stamina, and b) to help lose the weight!

Long post this week, but you know that blessed extra hour of sleep we get when we turn the clocks back?? Well…. First of all, I did the stupid thing I always seem to do—let myself get sucked into reels and videos until 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning #angryfaceemoji Second, and mostly, I’ve chronic postnasal drip and it had me coughing all night. And I’ve only myself to blame; as much as cold is not kind to RA, I don’t tolerate being too hot, either. (I blame the extra pounds for that) I keep the apartment cool, and enjoyed the brisk air from the open sliding glass door. Seems that it triggered excess postnasal drip, which triggered the chronic coughing spells. Especially since I was lying down as one tends to do whilst in bed…

BUT, I’ve lost another pound this week.

I’m crushed. I was on track to hit my next goal marker: 230 pounds, especially when I hit 232.6 on Sunday. then for whatever combination of reasons, I’m stuck at 233…

Here’s to seeing less of me in the weeks to come.
