NEW FEATURE – WEIGH-in-WEDNESDAY – MY I’M GONNA-DO-IT-THIS-TIME WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY – WEEKLY CHECK-IN

 

WARNING: Transparent and oh-so-vulnerable post ahead.

 

Once upon a time I thought I was fat.

 


I was wrong.

 

I know, I know, slow and steady wins the race. And losing weight too fast isn’t healthy. That and the pounds lost so rapidly tend not to stay lost.

Still, it’s agonizing watching the scale hover in the same place day after day. And I know, I know, ‘don’t weight yourself every day.’ But I just gotta know. Ya know?

That said, the scale has shifted down a bit, hovering closer to 240 than 242 as it has been! Even dipped to 239 a couple of times before settling at the 240 or 241 mark.

 



Well, so so close. I was really hoping today would be the day it dipped below 240. Le sigh…

 

It’s been a rough week—only two walklets, one of which I had to cut short because of my back. I don’t know what I’ve done but I’ve had to take the hydrocodone three times this past week! And I DO NOT like taking that!

I’ve also had two migraine episodes this week, possibly because of the weather.

 

The beautiful oven-roasted veg that I had went bad before I could eat it all. My mistake was roasting them all at the same time vs only what I can eat in 2 or 3 meals. I’ve already got them on my shopping list and will be smarter about how much I cook this time.

 

Probably the biggest thing I’m doing is portion control. It’s how I lost 30 pounds in 2011, and it’s how I’ll lose the 60 pounds this time. Once upon a time, I could—and would—eat an entire box of pasta Roni—shells and white cheddar, thank you very much—for my supper. Now, I’ll have chicken nuggets or meatballs, and half a box of pasta Roni.

 

 


 

As the title of this series says, I am determined to get my weight back down. It’s not only no healthy, but it’s massively uncomfortable.

Here’s to seeing less of me in the weeks to come.
