CHAT THURSDAY – JAIME JO WRIGHT

Please give a warm feathered welcome to author and friend, Jaime Jo Wright.

rem:  Hullo Jaime Jo, and welcome. Tell us three random things about yourself.

JAIME JO:  I actually love dogs too, just not as much as cats. My favorite flower is a violet. I have never read To Kill a Mockingbird.

rem:  Well, cats are the superior animal. What is your favorite quotation and why?

JAIME JO:  Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace, so sure and certain that the believer would stake his life on it a thousand times. Martin Luther

It embodies my conviction and sole purpose.

rem:  So profound and powerful, and it embodies my conviction and purpose, also. When reading, what makes or breaks a story for you? Your fiction pet peeve?

JAIME JO:  Cheesy dialogue.

rem:  Ugh! No kidding! What are you reading right now?

JAIME JO:  I’m reading Leaning on Air by Chery Grey Bostrom

rem:  Sounds like quite a story. Tell us a little about your writing journey.

JAIME JO:  It’s been an adventure. It’s been a journey of holding onto God’s hand and going where He leads. My plans fail. His, do not.

rem:  Amen to that! What genre(s) do you write and why?

JAIME JO:  I write mystery/thriller. People ask why I write dark stories where characters seem to be haunted, and my response is life is haunting. It attacks us, it stalks us, it hides beneath our beds at night, and it horrifies us. But then, there is the spark of hope—no, of TRUTH—that comes through the I Am. Our Creator. I believe it is critical that readers are introduced to and given a start on their journey toward Truth.

rem:  Life is not kind, and I appreciate your approach to writing, and to sharing God’s Truth in your stories. Tell us a little about your latest book? What is your current project?

JAIME JO:  I’m currently releasing “The Bell Tolls at Traeger Hall” – due out in October.

rem:  I can’t wait to read it. What is YOUR favorite part about the book or why do you love this book? Why should we read it?

JAIME JO:  This book is an allegory of sorts to the secret places we lock up and refuse to visit again. It’s about a house that has been sealed tight for over a century after a tragic murder and  then subsequent rumors.

rem:  Now I really can’t wait to read it. What is one take-away from your book(s) that you hope readers identify with?

JAIME JO:  I hope readers can take away the need to open our sealed vaults to the hope that comes through Christ.

rem:  I can speak personally to the battle to open those sealed vaults, and also of the victory that comes from doing so. One more and then we’ll close. Do you have a life Scripture?

JAIME JO: Psalm 4:8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

rem:  What utter and complete confidence. Anything you’d like to add?

JAIME JO:  Thank you to everyone who reads and reviews the books I write! It’s a ministry of story!

rem:  Jaime Jo, thank you so much for chatting with us on my blog today!
