NEW FEATURE – WEIGH-in-WEDNESDAY – MY I’M GONNA-DO-IT-THIS-TIME WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY – WEEKLY CHECK-IN

Once upon a time I thought I was fat.

 


I was wrong.

 

Talk about a roller coaster! Last week I mentioned that the week before was not so productive, and how last week was mega productive. So this past week has been a mixed bag—I managed THREE walkets. Plus what I call “Juniper Laps,” in which my kitty girl, Juniper, calls out to me with a particular meow. “Come on,” she says. “Follow me.” And then she leads me on laps through apartment. It’s the most adorable thing.

 

Then Saturday I crashed. UGH. And the malaise has been hanging around since then. Well, that was yesterday (I start writing the post on Tuesday) and today I do feel significantly better. Well, minus my back and pelvis hurting. #eyeroll I did take a hydrocodone, though; it’s why I have it. NOTE: I DO NOT like taking it, but when I need it…

 

In addition to getting out for my walklets and the protein drinks I mentioned, I also take flax seed supplements. Two reasons: it helps lower my slightly elevated cholesterol, and it helps me feel full while eating less.

When I ordered groceries last week, I got a whole passel of fresh veggies—red potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, asparagus, green beans, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, red and yellow bell peppers, and red cabbage. Chopping it all up took a toll on my back but oh! it was all so tasty. I already had onions, so I started with those. Drizzled olive oil in a large shallow pan and added some Celtic sea salt and garlic powder, then layered the veggies.

Dinner Friday was the oven roasted veg over brown rice with quinoa, and baked salmon! Lookit me, eating all healthy! Did I mention it’s yummy!

 



 

 


 

Well, look at that! I’m back down to 240!! Which is very encouraging! Now to keep that momentum. (Can you call it momentum when it’s going so slow? LOL)

 



 

Here’s to seeing less of me in the weeks to come.
