rem:  Hullo Lisa, and welcome. Tell us three random things about yourself.

LISA:  I usually sleep until 8am. I’m not a night person or morning person—I’m a middle-of-the-day person. I drive a Toyota Rav4.

 

rem:  I’m a middle-of-the-day person, too, although I don’t get up until well after 8am… LOL When reading, what makes or breaks a story for you? Your fiction pet peeve?  

LISA:  If I’m bored, I will not finish a book. I’ll hang in there for another 20 pages or so to see if it picks up, but if not, I let it go. Fiction Pet Peeve: Head-hopping with POV.

 

rem:  Yeah, if a story doesn’t hold the reader’s attention then it’s a lost cause.  What are you reading right now? 

LISA:  Janyre Tromp’s Darkness Calls the Tiger.

 

rem:  That’s a new author name to me, but I just looked, and the book sounds intriguing. Tell us a little about your writing journey.

LISA:  I’ve always been a voracious reader and first dabbled with writing for pay in elementary school (I won $5 from a local magazine)! I wrote for my high school and college papers, got a degree in English Lit and an internship with a local publisher. After college, I got a job with a Christian publisher and they offered on my first novel the same day! God’s been opening doors ever since then, and I’m grateful.

 

rem:  Seems God had those doors lined up for you long before you even knew they were there!

What genre(s) do you write and why?

LISA:  Hmm. Maybe the better question is what I DON’T write—mystery or literary. I’ve covered YA, contemporary romance, historical women’s fiction, general fiction, supernatural suspense, dystopian and more! I’m always intrigued with trying my hand at something new.

 

rem:  That’s quite a variety. Tell us a little about your latest book? What is your current project?

LISA:  My last new book was Fathoms, the last in the Oceans of Time trilogy. But I edited and am reintroducing the River of Time Series, which has always been a reader favorite. I love time travel…a touch of the fantastical makes me smile.

 

rem:  I’ve read Waterfall, but I need to catch up and read the rest of the series. What is YOUR favorite part about the book or why do you love this book? Why should we read it?

LISA:  Waterfall is the first in the River of Time Series, and everyone should give it a chance if they need a “break read.” Something that doesn’t tax your brain but just entertains you and tugs at your heartstrings.

 

rem:  What is one take-away from your book(s) that you hope readers identify with? 

LISA:  That we’re not supposed to just be surviving our lives—we’re supposed to be living them to the fullest.

 

rem:  And what a difference it makes! One more and then we’ll close. Do you have a life Scripture?

LISA: I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all of the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19
