SPECIAL EDITION – NEW HOME, NEW BLOG, NEW ME

NEW HOME

Well, it happened. I was hoping it wouldn’t. Hoped I’d stay in my little house till they had to load me up and take me to a home somewhere. You know, in like thirty or forty years… (I’m 66 now LOL)

BUT… my now-former landlords decided to get out of the landlord business and sell the house.

I lived there for sixteen years.

So moving was no small deal. Looking, looking, looking…

Until Father God directed me… HERE! To the apartment where I now sit, typing these words.

A house with a porch and a tree

I’ve met several of my new neighbors in the four months I’ve been here and feel quite at home.

NEW BLOG

So, the blog…

A few years ago I did what I have a tendency to do—took on more than I can manage. Cue the eye roll…

Where the blog is concerned, I created a feature for every day of the week. Catchy, yeah? Keeping up with that proved above my, uh, pay grade. (Not that I get paid to blog LOL)

Then the first fracture happened. Not a major thing, “just” a stress fracture. But there was a SLEW of other issues that year, 2019, and some of my cutesy blog features got neglected. More fractures (yes, six fractures in six years) and fewer blog posts. Until I wasn’t posting at all.

Last year was one of two years of my life that count as the year from hell for me. No details, just suffice to say, there was a situation that was creating high stress and anxiety. And no blog posts.

Then I had to move…

When I first started blogging back in 2014, I landed on WordPress, and have been happy enough with it until they switched up their formatting options. Now, I know I’m old school but I work OFFLINE. You know, ‘cause if you’re working ONLINE and your internet goes out… I format my docs a certain way and WP was making it more and more complicated, so…

NEW ME

If you’ll take another look at the images above, you’ll notice the mold (!!!) in all quarters of the house I just moved out of.

Imagine if you will, how that has contributed to the decline of my health. Imagine, also, how my health is improved since leaving that toxic home.

Not related to living in a scourge of mold, but two years ago I had severe muscle spasms in my back, which left me dependent on a walker. Earlier this year, I tore the labrum in my hip, which had me in a wheelchair for several weeks! (I know!! It just doesn’t stop! LOL)

That’s healed now, and I’ve been able to get out for short little “walklets.” Building up my strength so I can go on full-fledged walks again.

So, new me is more like restored me. Or at least in process of restoring, or regaining some of my previous interests and abilities.

Like blogging. And writing. And walking. And…

Watch out world—I’m on the move!
