THE BOOK

THE BLURB

Can a peaceful waterfall hold the answer to a murderer's darkest secret?

In the small town of Benton, Tennessee, Laurie Brooks is seen as a quiet and unassuming young woman until she makes a deadly discovery at a waterfall. Determined to find justice for the victim, Laurie embarks on a journey of self-discovery that will challenge everything she thought she knew about herself.

Trevor Oppenheimer is a young, successful psychologist who prides himself on his ability to understand the human mind. But when the woman he loves begins to unravel a dangerous web of secrets, Trevor's past anxieties rise to threaten her investigation. Can he put aside his fears or will they ultimately drive Laurie away?

As Laurie and Trevor navigate their struggles of faith and personality, a killer lurks in the shadows. With each passing day, the danger grows, and Laurie and Trevor must unravel the truth before it's too late.

THE AUTHOR

Besides being an author, I am married with two grown sons, a precious daughter-in-law and six grandchildren whom I love!

In between raising a family, I worked in the banking industry, then became a center director for a pregnancy center. I spent eight years with an anti-trafficking group in the Tampa Bay area, and eight years at Trinity College of Florida. These last three influenced my thinking greatly and influence my writing as well.

I love sweet tea, and the beaches, the swamps, and the forests of my native Florida. I now reside in Tennessee near my grandchildren, and love the coolness, the mountains and seasonal changes of Tennessee, especially the fall leaf change!

I started writing when I was twelve then put it all away when I married. At 27, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Years later, I started writing again, but now I had God’s help and purpose!

I write Christian romantic suspense. My books wrap sweet romance in real-life issues women face today. Some of these are hard situations that find their answer in God's love, power and forgiveness. Each book includes mystery and suspense and a dose of laughter. I desire is not only to entertain, but also to encourage others in their walk with God.

MY REVIEW

When you start poking around at secrets, you’re gonna find out so much more than you ever imagined.

Laurie Brooks has discovered the unthinkable—a dead body. And she’s not the kind of person who can just let the authorities know and forget about it. As she and Trevor Oppenheimer become closer, she becomes more acquainted with his climbing buddies, too. And begins to suspect one of them. Until it looks like maybe it’s another of the team. [SPOILER]

Ms. Rodante drops a whopper of a twist into this story, one that will keep the reader turning the page to the “I-did-not-see-that-coming” end!
